The ICA Fast Forward Program is excited to announce a new mini grant program to support the production of digital art by Fast Forward youth via $50 - 75 grants. The work from each grant recipient will be included in a juried exhibition of youth artwork from around the world at the at the 01SJ biennial. The ZER01 festival will be held in San Jose, California, June 4 – 8, 2008.
Description
Open to currently enrolled ICA Fast Forward students, the program is designed to facilitate the creation of new work by providing funds for production. The program is also intended to generate relationships between the youth artists and the professional artists within their community. As part of the program, each youth artist must find a professional mentor, either someone from the selection committee or another professional in the community. Grant recipients will be required to present their work to the mentor regularly throughout the production, using a work-in-progress personal blog. The mentor will provide feedback throughout the creative process. The youth artist will present their completed work to the full committee at the end of the production. Grant recipients will be expected to post regularly to their personal blogs as well as to the ZER01 site.
This program is made possible by the generous support of ZERO1 and Adobe Systems, Inc.
